Porcelain Veneers
For patients who would like to correct teeth that are crooked, chipped, stained, or otherwise less than perfect, porcelain veneers from the Portsmouth, New Hampshire practice of Richard Liu might be the answer. Porcelain veneers are custom-made for each individual tooth, are durable, and are fairly easy to apply.
The Porcelain Veneers Procedure
Because of the customized nature of porcelain veneers, Portsmouth dentist Richard Liu will need you to visit the office twice. During the first visit, Dr. Liu will remove approximately a millimeter of enamel from the surfaces of the teeth that will be receiving veneers. Most patients report very little discomfort during this process; however, for those who request it, Dr. Liu may offer local a anesthetic. He will then take a mold of your teeth so the lab can begin making your custom porcelain veneers. Our Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Maine patients will then have a short wait, usually one or two weeks, before the veneers are ready.
Placement of Porcelain Veneers
When the completed veneers arrive at the office, you will return so that Dr. Liu can permanently affix them to your natural teeth. This is achieved with bonding cement and a curing light. Your new, natural-looking smile is now ready to show off to the world.
